TEDx®'s Virtual Talks Make It Easier Than Ever To Land A TED Talk
While COVID Wreaked Havoc On Most Businesses... It Opened The Door To An Amazing New Chance To Check "I Gave A TED Talk" Off Your Bucket List
(Even If You've Previously Been Rejected)

By Steve Harrison
Have you always wanted to give a TEDx® talk but don't know where to start?
Or maybe you’ve applied and been rejected and thought you killed your one shot at fame.
Every author and speaker wants to give a TEDx talk. Using the TED® platform leads to instant recognition that can make you famous or build your business.
To date, TEDx talks have been viewed over 3.5 million times on YouTube and the TED Talks website.
In December 2017, I did a TEDx talk myself. As of today, it has more than 445,000 views!

Because of the ongoing pandemic, many TEDx organizers are booking speakers for virtual events.
That means the TEDx stage is now your own home or office! You simply record your presentation and send it over.
In many ways, then, now is the perfect time to plan and deliver your own TEDx talk.
But...
Even though TEDx events, which are locally organized, concentrates on local voices like yours… you still need to know how to navigate their cumbersome application process.
TED® has rejected many GREAT speakers, authors and interesting businesspeople and philanthropists.
Not because they didn’t have amazing presentations, but simply because they didn’t know how to properly fill out the application.
There's an awful lot you need to know to make your TEDx talk happen.
First, most TEDx organizers get flooded with applications from far more would-be speakers than they can accept. Plus, many only accept those based on very narrow criteria, such as being associated with a given university.
Second, the quality of the video you’ll get from your TEDx talk varies dramatically depending on the organizer – which is a huge problem, since coming away with a really compelling, well-edited video on YouTube is the biggest payoff of your talk. A not-so great video might be worse than none at all.
We’ve helped more than 74 of our clients land and/or craft TEDx talks in the last few years, and we've learned an enormous amount in the process.
I’ll be joined on the web class by my team's head speaking and presentations coach Geoffrey Berwind, and here’s some of what you’ll discover...
- 3 BIGGEST secrets to landing your first virtual TEDx talk (don’t even think of applying for a TED Talk until you know these).
- How to put together a winning TEDx-style presentation in just a couple days (most people struggle for weeks preparing their talk because they don’t follow this simple strategy).
- How to quickly and effectively fill out the TED talk speaker application that will make your presentation the PERFECT MATCH for what TED is looking for (Many great speakers get rejected because they screw up the deceptively simple application process).
- The 4 BIG RULES of TED (over 95% of applicants get rejected… often it’s because they run afoul of one of these four rules…).
- My “Love & Service” strategy for turning a half-decent talk into a brilliant and memorable presentation (this works even if you “freeze” in front of the camera and you’ve never given a talk in public before).
- How to “TED-ify” your current presentation (if you’re a veteran speaker you’ll discover how to quickly convert your current talk into a tight, 10-minute TED Style talk that TED looks for).
- How to use a TEDx talk as a stepping stone to writing and publishing your first book and establishing relationships with top influencers within the TED world.
- How to get accepted as a speaker to TED Talks… even if you were previously rejected (how to “spy” on a local TEDx organization so you discover exactly what topics they’re greenlighting and what they’re looking for in a speaker right now).
- The secret to figuring out the best local TED organization to give your talk to (TED chapters throughout the country are actively looking for presenters… here’s how to match your unique presentation to the chapter most likely to book you).
- How to create an AUTHENTIC TEDx presentation that will help you connect with people with maximum impact and influence.
- How to use your TEDx talk as a marketing tool that will show you the biggest return on investment over anything else you do (including using it to get more clients for your business… networking with top professionals in your industry… and even DOUBLING your current speaking fees).
- Think you have a great title for your talk? Think again. Discover how to find the PERFECT TITLE for your presentation that will get the attention of TED organizations… PLUS skyrocket your social media presence.
- The “Dead Things” strategy for drawing listeners into your “Signature Story” (discover how a great signature story delivered in a TEDx talk can grow your business and increase your reach).
- Actual case histories of authors, experts and entrepreneurs who landed TEDx talks… what they learned… plus how they made it pay off.
- 3 ways to instantly improve any talk you give.
- 5 of the most important things every speaker should know about storytelling.
- And more... see you on the webcast!
All the best,
Steve Harrison
