FROM: Steve Harrison

Would you like to do a TEDx® talk? If not, you should really consider it.

Why? Because when you give a really good TEDx® talk, it’s not uncommon for the video of your talk to be seen on YouTube by hundreds of thousands of people all around the world.

Imagine someone Googling your name and the first thing they see is a TEDx® talk with more than 300,000 views. That’s credibility!

In late December, I did a TEDx® talk myself (which you may view here) and as of today, it already has 94,000 views on YouTube!

But of course, there’s a lot you need to know to make this happen.

First, most TEDx® organizers are flooded with applications from far more would-be speakers than they can accept. Plus, many only accept those based on very narrow criteria, such as being associated with a given university.

Second, the quality of the video you’ll get from your TEDx® talk varies dramatically depending on the organizer – which is a huge problem, since coming away with a really compelling, well-edited video on YouTube is the biggest payoff of your talk. A not-so great video might be worse than none at all.

We’ve helped 19 of our clients land TEDx® talks in the last few years and have learned an enormous amount in the process.

Join me for a free webcast on “How to Land a TEDx® Talk (and Other Tips for Becoming a Successful Speaker)” on Thursday, March 8th at 2 pm Eastern (11 am Pacific) or 7 pm Eastern (4 pm Pacific)

I’ll be joined on the webcast by our Quantum Leap speaking and presentations coach Geoffrey Berwind, and here’s some of what you’ll discover:

  • How delivering a really good TEDx® talk can be a huge boost to your career.
  • What you need to know about the process of landing a TEDx® talk.
  • Want to write a book but it's not out yet? Discover why you might consider doing a TEDx® talk first.
  • Actual case histories of authors, experts and entrepreneurs who landed TEDx® talks — what they learned and how they made it pay off.
  • 3 ways you can instantly improve any talk you give.
  • What a "signature story" is and why it's so important you have one.
  • 5 of the most important things every speaker should know about storytelling.
  • And more... See you on the webcast!
